Stage 1 - Police Application Form
The application form is an initial test to determine your suitability for the role. The form requires you to provide evidence of your previous skills, knowledge and abilities, along with a financial and criminal convictions assessment.
The competency section is a pass/fail section on the form and this is where you evidence transferable skills/experience such as customer care and respect for diversity. Failure to demonstrate such skills/qualities will result in your application being rejected.
At present approximately 60% of all applicants fail at application stage and cannot reapply to any force until 6-months has lapsed. Obviously you have no intention of failing so read on...
I would like more details about the application form guide and checking service.
Hi David. Just to let you know, I went to an assessment centre, I gained a score of 61 % with no (D) marks for race and diversity. so i got through. Thank you very much for your support. Best regards. Ian - received 15/07/10
Hi David, just to let you know I have now passed my assessment course. Thanks for all your help and giving me a second chance to benefit from your expertise, as first time round my revision was poor. Anyone reading this take David's course if you really want to pass and make sure you revise all the handouts you are given. Thanks Anthony - received 04/07/10
